CUSTOMER COMMENT .... AND I QUOTE ...

“ I THOUGHT I WOULD DROP YOU A LINE TO EXPRESS MY SINCERE THANKS FROM ALL THE TEAM AT SOUTH TODAY FOR YOUR EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF US AND OTHER BBC PROGRAMMES DURING THE EAST SUSSEX FLOODING LAST WEEK.......

LEE DESTY, EDITOR NEWSGATHERING, BBC SOUTH.

“ I CAN HONESTLY SAY THERE IS NO OTHER CAMERAMAN I WOULD RATHER HAVE WORKED WITH IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. HE WORKED NON STOP WITHOUT A SINGLE COMPLAINT, FOLLOWED ME OVER 12 FOOT HIGH FENCES WITH HIS CAMERA, INFILTRATED ‘BEHIND POLICE LINES’ TO GET THE BEST PICTURES, RODE RIVERS, WADED STREAMS AND AT ALL TIMES KEPT A SHARP NEWS EYE OPEN FOR ANGLES AND INTERVIEWS I MIGHT HAVE MISSED.

IN ADDITION I WAS ABLE TO FEEL CONFIDENT HE WAS CALCULATING RISKS AND REMAINING LEVEL HEADED WHEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EASY TO GET CARRIED AWAY BY THE ADRENALIN GENERATED BY THE SITUATION. THEN AT THE END OF A PHYSICALLY EXHAUSTING DAY HE STOOD ROCK STEADY THIGH DEEP IN WATER TO HAND HOLD SALLY’S LIVES......

CHRIS WARE, PRODUCER, BBC.

I AM WRITING TO SAY A HUGE THANK YOU FOR PULLING OUT ALL THE STOPS LAST THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AND WORKING IN APPALLING CONDITIONS TO DELIVER SUCH FANTASTIC MATERIAL........... THE RESULTS HELPED BUILD UP A REAL PICTURE OF JUST WHAT THE SCALE OF THE TRAGEDY WAS. THERE WERE SOME TRULY MEMORABLE SEQUENCES....... THANK YOU SO MUCH, WE ARE ALL GRATEFUL FOR YOUR PROFESSIONALISM AND TENACITY.

EVE TURNER, HEAD OF REGIONAL AND LOCAL PROGRAMMES, BBC SOUTH.
